IMPLEMENTATION SCIENCE CORE
Infuse Implementation Science and Human Centered Design approaches throughout I-HEAL to support project completion, mentorship, and product development, to optimize workforce capacity in implementation science and dissemination & knowledge translation to increase access to healthcare for persons with TBI.
The Impact of Implementation Science and Human Centered Design
“We can make the greatest impact on access to care for persons with TBI through implementation of evidence-based policy and practice using Human Centered Design” - Jolie Haun, PhD
Support Implementation Science Mentorship, Training, & Professional Development
The Implementation Science Core introduces early career scientists to implementation science research and helps enhance the skills of all researchers in implementation science through mentorship, training, and professional development opportunities.
- The ISC team provides educational consultation on I-HEAL projects and activities
- Mentorship on content and product development enhances the usability of I-HEAL outcomes and supports researchers in future efforts
- ISC conducts ongoing workshops and learning opportunities to develop rehabilitation workforce capacity in Implementation Science
Support I-HEAL Team’s Use of Human Centered Design Approaches in Research and Evaluations
The Implementation Science Core provides mentorship and expertise in the use of Human Centered Design approaches in I-HEAL projects and activities. We also support the use of Human Centered Design to develop I-HEAL products to increase usability of the products.
Facilitate Implementation, Dissemination & Knowledge Translation
Only 14% of research gets put into practice and of the research that makes it, implementation averages 17 years (Balas et al., 2000). I-HEAL works to overcome this barrier through Implementation Science best practices.
The Implementation Science Core facilitates workforce readiness by translating I-HEAL innovations into practice. Implementation science supports the trainings of rehabilitation providers, which improves access to care for people with TBI.
Provide expertise and mentorship in implementing project findings into policy and practice.
Develop and validate resources, products, and tools for dissemination to professional and lay audiences.
Market and disseminate knowledge, products, and resources to improve access to care for persons with TBI.
How the Implementation Science Core Interacts with Other Cores
I-HEAL's cores work closely together to both strengthen I-HEAL's research and support dissemination and adoption of its findings and products.
ISC collaborates with the Data and Communication Core on branding, content development, and review and validation of research data collection resources.
ISC supports Community Engagement Core through the development and tailoring of content, processes, input and feedback to support knowledge acquisition and data collection from professional and lived experience partners.
ISC partners with the Operations Core on communications, content development, and branding to support the overall success of I-HEAL.
